Friends

Well, it's been a good day. I only had to work a half day, and so I was home by around 12:30 or so today, It was payday! Our friend Matt and Sarah have come up to spend the weekend with us. It's been good to get to catch up with them. I noted that we've seen each other on Jan. 1st for the last three years, almost seems to be turning into a tradition. Jan. 1st 2003 we saw them off at KCI as they were headed to China for a year and a half. Jan. 1st 2004 they stayed with us in Emporia, because Sarah's sister was getting married, and now, Jan. 1st 2005, they're just visiting us. I looks like next year we will need to go to them... Well, enough rambling. After much talk about doing it, I think I'm going to go get my Jeep tomorrow. Anyhow, my eyes are burning, and I need to go to bed. Later, David

Two Down, One To Go!

Well, this week is a short week. I didn't work on Monday, and I don't work on Friday as well. I even think I may get off early tomorrow, but I don't know that for sure. I found out all sorts of cool things today. Like... There is a recording studio here in Eudora, KS called Black Lodge Recording, check out their client list. Most of them seem to be smaller shows, but did you notice Kurt Cobain! Crazy stuff. Anyhow, that was pretty much the big news for my day. I did some work on figuring out what I'd like to get as a tattoo, but I'm still debating it. Well, I need to go, gotta get my sleep. Later, David

I'm Back

Well, after a bit of a reprieve, I'm back and at it again. I did enjoy the break. Mostly not having to work, but I did enjoy getting to spend time with the families. Surprisingly there isn't much that I'm wanting to report on. Phat Tuesday seemed to be another success, like I said before, if you're not there you should be. I think tonight was the most we've had stay for a while. Fun times. Anyhow, it's late, and there are some things I want to do yet this evening. Later, David

Christmas Vacation

Well, one more day of work! I'm so excited, one more day and then I get four days off. Work another three, and take three more off. I love this time of year! Well, I found out the trailer I need to move my Jeep is free again, so I'm hoping that on Monday I may be able to move it. I do have to get something out of my garage before I can put it in, so if anyone wants a big steel desk, let me know and it's yours. I'll even deliver if it's in the Lawrence/Kansas City area. Well, I'm not going to take the time to add any links tonight, just going to call it an evening, and maybe go play my new game (Tony Hawk's Underground). Also, there may be a game added to the wishlist... Later, David

Get David A New Guitar Fund

Ok, I need a new guitar, note the wish list below has two new additions, so I'm officially starting to take collections for the 'Get David A New Guitar Fund'. Donations will be accepted via PayPal. You can send your donations to rahijada@yahoo.com, I wish. Anyhow, I'm needing to go, nothing big to report, had a great evening. For those of you in the Lawrence area, if you aren't at Phat Tuesdays, you're missing out.

Appraisal

Well, it's late at night and I decided to take a break from cleaning to post a message to the four people that know of this blog's existence. Maybe I'll let the rest of my family know about it soon. Anyhow, we got a notice on Friday, maybe Saturday that some gal would be coming by our apartment tomorrow evening to do an appraisal of the building, so Sarah and I are doing some last minute cleaning. Well, not to much to report on today. I got a message from Sean regarding the morning worship service (at Lawrence First Church) on Jan. 16th, I don't want to give to much away, but it will definitely be a service to catch. We're going to do things a bit different. If Sean reads this and wants to give away some details please post a comment. Anyhow, back to the grind, oh, and I promise my next post will be all linked up. I'm thinking about adding some kind of a daily picture to my blog, but don't know about the time commitment. Anyhow... Rearranging

Well, today was another good day. Sarah and I got up and went to church this morning. With University Church not meeting again until January 16th, we decided we didn't want to get out of the habit. So we went to the church that Sarah's 'Home Church' pastor is now at. It wasn't too bad of a service. We have this knack for picking odd days to visit churches, so as habit has it, we got to see their children's Christmas presentation. We also watched The Terminal which we rented last night. Not to bad of a movie, I didn't like the ending, but that's just me. Well, Sarah and I spent a good couple of hours rearranging the living room this evening. We tried several different arrangements, and ended up with it pretty much the same as when we started. Oh well, it gave us a good excuse to vacum under the couches. Anyhow, that's pretty much my day. Sorry, no links again today. Later, David

Saturday Night!

I am so glad it's the weekend. I've had a pretty good day to day. I got up at a good time this morning. Did some straightening in the garage. I hauled off a load of stuff to Salvation Army and took a bunch of cds to Hastings to sell back. I was going to borrow Dad's truck so that I could haul my Jeep over here, but the trailer I needed was indisposed today. Oh well, I got to enjoy the beautiful day we had today. Some of my errands this morning I did while driving with the windows down, I walked to the grocery store, and I got to play outside with Erin. I tried to take a nap, actually I accidentally fell asleep, but it only made me more tired. Nothing a little caffeine didn't fix. We went to eat at CiCi's Pizza and then went and rented Collateral and The Terminal. Anyhow, I'm going now. Later, David

Business Casual

Well, my coworkers got to see me in rare form today. I dawned my slacks and a long sleeve button up shirt. I also shaved (left the goatee), and removed my earrings. I hate days like this. I feel so uncomfortable out of my jeans and without my earrings. I guess I'm still rebelling since I didn't cut my hair. Well, it was a long day at work, and I'm glad to be home. I shipped the last of my recent e-bay auctions too. I was sure I had underestimated my shipping costs, but ended up I did pretty good. Well, there really isn't a whole lot going on, I think Sarah and I may be going shopping in the morning as well as I'm hoping to clear out my garage tomorrow and bring my Jeep home. I'm excited about getting to work on it again. I've had a parts catalog sitting around the house for a few weeks and I keep thumbing through it looking for stuff to buy, now I just need to get some money. Good news, with the paycheck I got today, I get to make the last payment on my Bronco 1,2! Now I can start saving money to get it running again. Thus is the story of my life. Later, David

Wow Comments

I don't feel much like writing today. Nothing spectacular, except that I didn't send the blog's address to people. But I've already received a handful of comments. I did get something accomplished with the blog today. I have completely went through it and cleaned up the code so that it's easier to read. I just need to do some brainstorming on what I want the new design to look like and then I'll hack it apart and rebuild it with new colors and stuff. This blue page is really grating on me. I would have preferred black, but didn't want my initial blog to look just like Sean's. Not that his looks bad, just I have that need to be different. Anyhow, I'm off to bed, after responding to a few comments. Good night everyone. No links for today. Later, David

Dead to the World

Ok, I'm sitting here once again at my computer, blurry-eyed, but to stubborn to get up and take out my contacts. Still working on the same computer from last night. I think I may have it taken care of, but I have a few scans left to run on it. I'm getting tired of working on this one, one down three to go. I'm not really sure why I'm writing this entry, I haven't even notified any of my friends that I've got it up and running. I guess there is a part of me that wants to be finished tweaking the blog before I let anyone see it. Although, I have to say, I hate embedded CSS. Shoot me now. It's cool though, I already added a friends list to the side panel, and removed the stupid "Powered By" logo. So it's looking pretty clean. Next on the list is to adjust the colors on the page to better represent me, and to take out the credit lines for the guy who designed the template, that code is what you call bloat, reminds me of Microsoft. I was talking last night about doodling on my papers in grade school and coming up with a bad symbol, how could the timing have been better. Anyhow I'm going to sign off on this entry, and hey, the evening is still young, maybe I'll let all my friends know that I'm blogging, but then, I kind of like being a closet blogger. Later, David Note: After entering into discussion regarding my desire to remove the credit line I have given credit again where credit is due. Although I wasn't trying to take credit for the design, I kept him from doing so. My apologies to Douglas Bowman for trying to short change him on that.

Hopping on the bandwagon

Well, really this is the last thing that I really wanted to do, so if you're reading this, consider yourself lucky. I hate anything that is fadish and honestly, in my book, blogging is a fad. Maybe it's just "pop culture" but, oh well, same difference. I spoke earlier about the woman who had a 66 pound tumor removed, check it out. Anyhow, I'm sitting here at my desk working on a computer, and thinking about the fact that I have three more in line waiting to be fixed. If anyone has an AGP Graphics card they'd like to donate (or lend) to the cause I would be much appreciative. I don't really want to purchase any more parts 'hoping' that it will work. That reminds me, anyone need a new motherboard... Later, David
