It's strange, in some aspects of my life I preach that change is good, and if things aren't changing they're growing stagnant. On the other hand, there are some area's where I hold out to change. I didn't really know what I wanted to write about when I started this post, but as I went into the section of Blogger that let's me post a new entry, there was a big section saying "Your new version of Blogger is ready" and gives me the option to upgrade, but I don't want to upgrade. I'm happy with the way it works now. I don't need additional features, just leave it like it is. The same is true with Yahoo! mail. How long has the new mail beta been out, and have I switched? Yeah, I did. I left it that way for about a week, and decided I liked the old version better, so I switched back and am now dreading the day that I have no choice but to switch. As I write this I can't help but think about my job. One of my primary tasks is installs and upgrades. How many times have I heard a client say it's fine the way it is, I don't need to upgrade, and I try to convince them that the upgrade is good and needed. It's so strange. Now that I'm in my blog a little ways I don't know that I really have a point to this. It seems like this would be a great Jerry Springer moment where I summarize what the root of the conflict is and provide some advice for how to deal with it, but I don't have anything in my mind. I guess I'm just wasting your time, sorry.
Later,
David
P.S. - To any of you who have upgraded to the new blog (Jeff), does spell checker still catch the following words: Blog, Blogger, Blogging? This is the only major pet peeve of the current system that I have.
